Post Date:07/16/2022 11:18 AM

The Fullerton Police Department is a proud leader in Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Enforcement and Education through the Standard Field Sobriety Testing (SFST), the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), and the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Programs. In partnership with the California Highway Patrol, Fullerton PD offers all three courses multiple times throughout the year. These classes are open to Peace Officers from any accredited, POST Certified Law Enforcement Agency at no cost to their respective agency thanks to a grant from the California Highway Patrol.

“The education and enforcement as well as the detection of impaired drivers on our roads are all critical pieces in the overall welfare of our city. The Fullerton Police Department is grateful to the California Highway Patrol for their support in our efforts to maintain public safety on our community’s roadways,” said Fullerton Police Chief Robert Dunn.

The grant will pay for additional enforcement measures, including:

 • Officer Training and/or recertification: Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST), Advanced Roadside Impairment Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), and Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

The grant program will run through June 2023.
