FIRE SERVICE CHAPLAIN

Firefighters often help people on the worst day of their life. In the same way, fire chaplains provide a service to fire departments through the worst of times. And much like the fire service- fire chaplains are available 24/7, including weekends and holidays. The Fullerton Fire Department Chaplaincy program is three fold

1. Providing invocations and benedictions at Fire Department and City events and ceremonies
2. Serves the members of our Department
3. Serves the citizens of Fullerton

The Chaplain is available to the members of our Department and their families for counseling, encouragement, funeral services, and wedding ceremonies. The Chaplain offers marriage and pre-martial counseling to the Fire Department staff members and their spouses or fiancées. The Chaplain meets with new recruits to offer prayer and explains the services available. The Chaplain also offers grief counseling to the families of Firefighters killed in the line of duty and responds to incidents where he provides comfort and guidance to citizens who are victims of trauma and is available for follow up at hospitals or homes. It is not uncommon to run into the Chaplain at fires throughout Orange County as he serves as a volunteer photographer for Fullerton, Brea, Anaheim, and other Orange County Departments. Photos can be seen in several publications as he records the history of our Department.
