Are fireworks legal in Fullerton?
On November 6, 2012, Fullerton voters approved Measure X, which adopted Ordinance No. 3183 establishing the sale and use of safe and sane fireworks. City Council adopted Resolution No. 2016-11 on February 2, 2016, which established rules for the sale and use of safe and sane fireworks within the City of Fullerton.

What number should I call in the event of emergencies during the 4th of July?
For emergencies, please call 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, or to report illegal possession and/or discharge of fireworks in unauthorized areas, please call 714-738-3165. For Tips on illegal firework sales email ReportFireworks@fullertonPD.org. The City plans include CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) patrols of our hill areas which are also high fire areas.

When can I start buying Safe and Sane fireworks in Fullerton?
Safe and Sane fireworks sales may be sold beginning on July 1st through July 3rd from noon till 10:00 p.m. Sales may continue on July 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Individual organizations may set their own hours within these parameters.

When can I set off Safe and Sane fireworks in Fullerton?
Safe and Sane fireworks can only be used and discharged on July 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

What is the minimum age to buy and use Safe and Sane fireworks?
You must be at least 16 years of age to purchase and discharge Safe and Sane fireworks.

Can I set off Safe and Sane fireworks at our schools and parks?
No. Fireworks are not permitted at our public schools and parks.

Are there areas where fireworks are not allowed especially as it pertains to Fire Hazard Zones in Fullerton?
Yes, a map indicating where sales and discharge of fireworks is prohibited will be distributed to all customers at the firework stand. While the map shows specific boundaries, these areas are generally known as the Brea Dam Recreational areas and the Coyote Hills areas. Furthermore, maps will be made available at the point of sales at each booth as well as on the City’s website.

Can I bring my Safe and Sane fireworks to the city-wide Fireworks show at Fullerton High School on July 4th?
No fireworks of any kind will be permitted inside the city-wide Fireworks show at Fullerton High School on July 4th.
