Welcome

The Redistricting Process

The City of Fullerton seeks your help to plan and draw new City Council Voting Districts.

Local governments use updated Census data to redraw voting district line every ten years to reflect changes in the local population.  State law requires cities to engage the community in the redistricting process by holding public hearings and conducting public outreach, including to underrepresented and non-English speaking communities.

The final map created through the Redistrict Fullerton process will define Fullerton's City  Council district boundaries for the next ten years.  The public has many opportunities to participate in redistricting and we invite you to get involved!

How to participate?

Share your specific thoughts, draw a map or attend an upcoming workshop to get involved!

  • Submit written testimony about the process or a specific map to districtelections@cityoffullerton.com.
  • Click here to see the calendar of workshops and public hearings you can attend and participate in.
  • Click here for information on drawing and submitting maps.

At the hearings and workshops, we want you to:

  • Define your neighborhood or community of interest
  • Explain why redistricting is relevant to your community
  • Get the tools you need to draw a map (or as many maps as you like)
  • Share your opinions of the draft maps
  • Talk to your neighbors and local organizations.
