Rain Barrels and Cisterns:

Collecting and re-using rainwater for lawns and gardens minimize the amount of water flowing into your storm drains, sewer systems and local waterways. Plants and microbes prefer rainwater because it is naturally "soft" and free of chlorine, fluoride, and other chemicals.

Applications may not submit a rebate claim for both rain barrels and cisterns. Customers who purchase one or more rain barrels must submit for all eligible rain barrels on a single application. Submitting one application for the rain barrel(s) or cistern will prevent customers from receiving a rebate for any subsequent rain barrel or cistern purchase(s).

Soil Moisture Sensor Systems:

Eligible soil moisture sensor systems will be rebated only for active stations. Active stations are those that are physically connected to an in-use irrigation system.

A soil moisture sensor measures the soil moisture content in the active root zone where it is installed on your property. The sensor is placed in a location that best represents the overall soil moisture condition of the site and must be connected to an irrigation system controller that accepts a signal from the senor. A measurement is taken before each scheduled irrigation event, and the irrigation controller bypasses the scheduled run cycle if the soil moisture is above a certain threshold as defined by the user.

Irrigation Controllers:

Eligible devices will be rebated only for active stations. Active stations are those that are physically connected to an in-use irrigation system.

Weather based "Smart" controllers for irrigation work on a simple principle: provide the appropriate watering schedule, adjust for weather changes, and irrigate based on the needs of the landscape and soil conditions. A smart controller will automatically reduce the watering times as the weather gets cooler, and less water is needed. Then as the weather begins to warm up, the controller will add more watering time.
