Jim Ertle

Jim Ertle has been a Fullerton resident since 1949.  He graduated from St. Mary’s grammar school in Fullerton, and Servite High School in Anaheim.  After graduation from high school he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.  After returning from Vietnam Jim married and started back to college at Cal State Fullerton while working full time.  He graduated from there with a degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing and later attended Pepperdine University where he received a Masters’ Degree, an MBA.

Jim has worked for Kraft Foods, Coca Cola and the 7UP Bottling Company of Los Angeles.  He and his wife owned Diamond Trophy and Engraving in downtown Fullerton for 11 years.  As an  active member of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce,  Jim served as Principal For A Day at Nicholas Jr. High School through the Chamber of Commerce Program.  Diamond Trophy and Engraving was named Small Business of the Year by the Chamber.  After selling Diamond, he went to work for Michelin.  After 10 years, Jim retired from Michelin as a Regional Business Development Manager in the Commercial Division.

Upon retirement Jim joined Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Cal State Fullerton.  He is an active member and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of that organization.
