Internet fraud involves transactions initiated via the Internet. This includes:
- Credit card fraud,
- investment fraud,
- Nigerian letter scams,
- business fraud,
- and non-delivery of merchandise.
If you feel you are a victim of Internet fraud, you need to file a complaint with the Internet Complaint Center (IC3). The site also contains fraud prevention tips and detailed information regarding Internet fraud. The IC3 will process the complaint and forward a copy to the law enforcement agency where the suspect resides. Ultimately, the agency where the suspect resides will handle the investigation.
