Arbor Day Flyer

We are excited to announce that this year's Arbor Day event will be held at Emery Park on April 6th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Come join us for a morning of tree planting, educational activities, and community engagement.  It's going to be a fun-filled event with food trucks, a balloon twister, and a face painter! Bring your family and friends and mark your calendars and be part of this green initiative!

Did you know that the City takes care of over 40,000 inventoried trees? Our urban forest is improving air quality, conserving energy, attenuating storm water, and improving property values!

Fullerton's first Arbor Day was held in 1971. In fact, Fullerton was one of the first cities in Orange County to receive the Tree City USA designation in 1981 by The National Arbor Day Foundation and among the first of six cities in California to receive such designation state-wide. Tree City USA is a national recognition program for sound urban forest management practices, sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and National Association of State Foresters. We are proud to have earned this honor for nearly 43 years and partner with local community members to host an Arbor Day event usually in March or April.

We ask you to support and participate in our Arbor Day events and help take good care of trees throughout the City! To learn more about it, contact Maintenance Service office at (714) 738-6897 or email maintenance@cityoffullerton.com.

2022 Arbor Day

Through sponsorships with West Coast Arborists, Southern California Edison, and California State University, Fullerton we have, once again, celebrated a successful Arbor Day! Together we beautified Adlena Park by planting various trees and adding to Fullerton's urban forest. As we plant trees each year, we combat climate change. Trees work to sequester carbon and filter our air to help create a greener Fullerton!

Due to COVID-19 and the Governor’s Safer At Home order, this year’s Arbor Day goes virtual. To celebrate National Arbor Day on April 24, 2020, we ask you to participate in the Fullerton's virtual tree awareness campaign by sharing a photo of you or your children (grandchildren) with a tree in the City and discuss a few benefits of planting and taking good care of trees in our community here! And don’t forget to use the hashtag #ArborDayAtHome and tag @arborday – Arbor Day Foundation will then plant a tree….no cost to you! [Photo credit: Fullerton Observer]
