The ultimate goal of any Police agency is to ensure the safety of its citizens. For this reason, the Fullerton Police Department recognizes the importance of partnering with the residents of Fullerton, who can be an extra set of eyes and ears, assisting us in meeting that goal.

Residents are often much more in tune with the day-to-day activities in their neighborhoods, and may recognize things that cause concern for the safety of the neighborhood. By calling the Fullerton Police Department and reporting suspicious activity, residents can take the first step in helping your Police Department safeguard the community.

A Patrol Check is simply a request to have officers patrol a particular area, typically related to some sort of activity that is occurring out of the normal activities of that neighborhood. Patrol checks may be related to, but are not limited to some of the following examples:

  • Subjects loitering in parks or near businesses on a regular basis.
  • Concerns about extra vehicular and pedestrian traffic to a specific location, possibly suggesting drug sales.
  • Recent crimes or nuisance activities occurring in an area.
  • Vehicular traffic speeding or disobeying traffic laws in a specific area.

Who Can Request a Patrol Check?

Anyone can request a Patrol Check, however, the requestor must also take into account that Patrol Checks will be handled based on Officer availability and based on the severity of the activity as it relates to other calls for service.

How Do I Request a Patrol Check?
