Included in the Downtown Plaza area is Plaza Park, an area of open grass and beautiful landscaping crisscrossed with decomposed granite paths that provide access to the picnic tables, high tech play equipment, shaded seating, and the grand tree, the parks focal point. The City of Fullerton was a recipient of the California Parks and Recreation Society Award for Excellence in Park Planning for Downtown Plaza and Park in 2003.
